AC/DC "The Band that has an icon Guitarist Angus Young"
Angus Young |
Angus
and Malcolm (Australia) formed hard rock
band AC/DC when they’re young in 1973.Angus
is a lead guitar this band and i think is one’s of the greatest guitarist in
history of rock band. All people that have a passion with a guitar will always
have a desire to perform like this man. His distinguished sound, and blazing
guitar licks are a trademark in AC/DC's sound. Not to mention his "Problem
Child" image- dressed in schoolboy suit, and running rampid everynight on
stage in a crazed frenzy. Angus would first perform with band TANTRUM, soon
after would join into the formation of AC/DC. He also participated with The
Marcus Hook Roll Band and Stevie Wright around this time.
And Dave
Evans is original lead vocal of this band. bassist Larry Van Kriedt and drummer
Colin Burgess, after a number of lineup changes the band settled with Bon Scott
on vocals, Mark Evans on bass guitar and Phil Rudd on drums, and released five
albums (two limited to Australia) between 1975 and 1977.with some reason Evans
was fired from the band shortly after release of Let Be Rock, Although “musical
differences” was the official reason gives for his departure. Cliff Williams
was brought in as his replacement, and he remains with the band to this day.
Angus Young
was born into a family of musical siblings. His oldest brother, George Young,
belonged to the Easybeats, an Aussie beat group whose “Friday on My Mind” was a
hit in most countries following its release in 1966 and a hit in America by the
spring of 1967. Another guitar-playing sibling, Malcolm Young, had the original
idea for a no-nonsense rock band built around energetic Angus, who was the
brood’s most talented musician. The Young brothers chose the name AC/DC, which
implied electricity and a hint of danger. The nascent AC/DC played their first
gig at a club in Sydney on New Year’s Eve 1973. The group’s lineup solidified
in 1974 when vocalist Bon Scott, drummer Phil Rudd and bassist Mark Evans
replaced early members Dave Evans, Rob Bailey and Peter Clack.
“Cliched as
it might be, we’ve always been a good, hard rock ‘n’ roll band,” Angus Young (AC/DC).thats
makes this band always made a something special and kicking our ears with Angus
riffs and Melody.
For three
decades AC/DC has become as one of the hardest-rocking and best-loved bands in the world. With a great guitarist Angus Young as their visual symbol
and musical firebrand, they grew from humble origins in Australia to become an
arena-filling phenomenon with worldwide popularity. They did so without
gimmickry, except for Angus’s schoolboy uniform, which became mandatory stage
attire. From the beginning they have been a straight-ahead, no-frills rock and
roll band that aimed for the gut. “We’ve never pulled any punches,” vocalist
Brian Johnson has said. “We just play music that’s fun and simple--the way our
audience likes it.”
After
another two successful albums, as the band were due to start recording again
frontman Bon Scott died in London on 19 February 1980 due to alcohol
poisoning. The band briefly considered quitting, but later chose to carry on and
hired Brian Johnson to take Scott's place as lead vocalist. The group's first
album with Johnson was Back in Black in 1980, which is now the second
best-selling album of all-time after Michael Jackson's Thriller. After the
recording of Flick of the Switch in 1983, Phil Rudd quietly left the band due
to problems with drug and alcohol abuse as well as a confrontation with rhythm
guitarist Malcolm Young.
The problem
of this band is frequent change of their personnel.its always bothering us,starting
with a vocal until the drummer. What makes AC/DC such a phenomenon is that
there's only one original member left, the ageless Angus Young.
but the
little question is?How does the show go on with only one original member?
AC/DC's
successes gives rise to philosophical questions: what constitutes a band, the
parts or the whole? Is a band just the name regardless of who plays in it, or
does it depend on who's actually on stage performing?
Shelley
Hadfield wrote in the Herald Sun (April 17, 2015) : “Whatever the line-up, the
brand inspires awesome loyalty, and grandparents are now bringing grandchildren
to their shows.”
In a review
of their Wembley show in June 2015, Uncut magazine noted: “You don't need to
speak English to know what's going on at an AC/DC concert, much less know who
is in the band.”
Though
devastated, Malcolm and Angus quickly began working up new material as a form
of therapy to built their home. “I just rang up Angus and said, ‘Do you wanna
come back and rehearse?’” Malcolm Young told Rolling Stone. “This was about two
days afterward.” After auditioning new vocalists, Brian Johnson was choosen by
them, a native of Newcastle, England, whose gruff, aggressive vocals helped
AC/DC successfully enter a dramatic new phase of its career. The group made a
great “ Back in Black”, whose title and all-black cover paid silent tribute to
Scott. The music rocked with a determined authority that catapulted AC/DC into
a class with Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin and the Rolling Stones. Because they
were younger than those bands, AC/DC bonded with a youthful audience that kept them
on top throughout the 1980s. Back in Black was an instant classic that ranks as
the sixth best-selling rock album of all time, having sold 19 million copies in
the U.S. and 41 million worldwide. The album gave AC/DC a series of anthems
that have formed the backbone of their live show: “You Shook Me All Night
Long,” “Back in Black” and “Hells Bells,” which began with the tolling of a
two-ton bell.
Whatever
happened with this AC/DC will not changed their image if Angus young still want
to play. The answer to what makes a band 'authentic' lies in the personality
and chemistry that individuals bring to the group. The Beatles could never be
the Beatles without John, Paul, George & Ringo. Had they re-formed after
John Lennon's murder it just would not have been the Beatles.
For AC/DC,
it's the songs, not the singer, that make them so uniquely popular.but other
power that can not disappear from our memory (i mean Angus Young).
