Queen “Legendary Band that influenced much of mankind”

Queen Band

When we’re talking about Queen we will never forget Freddie Mercury  (Lead Vocal and Piano),Brian May (Lead Guitar),  John Deacon (Bass Guitar),Roger Taylor ( vocal ,Drums).Queen is Legendary Rock Band with a millions fanatic fans worldwide. This Band formed 1970 in London England and for the firts time influenced by progressive Rock, Hard Rock and Heavy Metal. but the band triying ventured into more conventional and radio-friendly works by incorporating further styles, such as arena rock and pop rock, into their music. They made their first US tour, and in November released SHEER HEART ATTACK which was a hit on both sides of the Atlantic.
Before forming Queen, Brian May and Roger Taylor had playing Smile band, and Freddie Mercury was a fan of Smile and encouraged them to experiment with more elaborate stage and recording techniques. Mercury joined the band in 1970.
They started off regularly perform Live at their local Sainsbury's, where Brian May was working as a cleaner but was later fired because of constant use of the broom for mimicking guitar at the gigs because they were tight on cash. They made no money whatsoever and Freddie had to start selling handmade drugs around the corner at McDonalds. The band soon had enough money saved up to buy an old Ford station wagon to use while touring.

"Keep Yourself Alive" provided Queen with a steady income, leading to more exciting drinking nights at the tavern. But much of the money was donated to weapons, used to fight off the local chupacabra infestation. According to the famous story, kazooist Brian May lost his left foot during one of these battles, and he never found it again. This lead to his nickname amongst fans of "Hobble".The band soon realized their next logical step - leave the tavern and go on tour. The next day, Roger, Freddie, Brian and the bassist said goodbye to their first manager One-Eyed Johnny. They made a great loss that night, as Johnny was also their manager and producer of their first five singles. They toured almost all clubs and taverns of Northern England and Ireland, but nothing felt like Johnny's half-eaten trailer. Drummer Roger Taylor, after a night of heavy drinking, fell into a deep depression and attempted to kill himself with a rusty carving knife; after a 7 hour ordeal of sobbing and intermitant drum solos, Taylor was calmed down sufficiently by the band's road crew with the promise of cake.

Clean (1973)
Is The firts full record by Queen. Clean have concept album about  the story of a young man's dream of a world obsessively neat and tidy. This motive does not pervade all of the songs however, and so the album was never really considered to be 'concept'.

Our Number Two (1974)
on the back of the moderate success of Clean, the band released their second album, Our Number Two. This was prompted by a band decision that another record after the original might sell just as well as the first and lead them to record a third album. With this sound principle in mind, Queen produced a hard sounding slice of rock glory and a number one record featuring such hits as "Seven Seas Cod Liver Oil", "Some Day, One Day, Not Today, Was It Yesterday?" and the timeless sing-along classic "Nevermind".

Sheer Heart Attack (1974)
‘Sheer Heart Attack’ represented a shift in direction from Queen, away from the progressive sound of their earlier material and firmly into rock territory, securing their first Top 20 album in the process. The frenetic metal pacing of ‘Stone Cold Crazy’ made it an obvious influence for Metallica, who stomped through their own version years later. As Queen were working on the piano-based ‘Killer Queen’ (which found Mercury alternating between two different pianos!), May was in the hospital, so they left spaces for him to contribute his guitar parts once he felt better. In fact, Brian was ill for a good portion of the recording of ‘Sheer Heart Attack,’ so a number of his contributions were recorded this way, although you’d never know it from listening to the final results. But the most revealing experience from the whole affair had been Mercury's. Having recently broken up with his girlfriend but not fully understanding why he had done it, Freddie's visions as he lay close to death began to shed light on the truth of his sexual nature. This lead to his first musical expressions of desire for other men in "Brighton Cock" and "One Off The Wrist"
And their famous Album is continues until Freddie Mercury passes away..
-  A Day As a Racist (1976)
-  A Day And A Night At The Opera (1975)
-  Ska (1978)
-  Hot Spasm (1982)
-  The Buerks (1984)
-  A Kind Of Formaggi (1986)
-  The Clinical (1989)
-  Etc

But the most important think about Queen is their success Album and Charisma, that makes them a one’s of the succesful Band in the History. Word got out to the rest of the world that Queen was stealing the stage in England and Worldwide, foolishly they chose to open their doors to the band in hopes of using their songs during parliamentary broadcasts. Queen then stole the stage from the rest of the world, sometimes during the middle of performances by other bands. U2 infamously suffered for this during their first ever gig at the Meat and Taters Inn, beginning their set on stage to a packed crowd and closing it in the beer cellar.
Queen was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001. Compilations, DVDs and archival live recordings continued to emerge throughout the new millennium. The Queen name was brought back in 2005 as "Queen + Paul Rodgers," a band that featured the former lead singer of Free and Bad Company. Return of the Champions, a 2005 double disc on the Hollywood label, documents a show where Rodgers joined Brian May and Roger Taylor at the Hallam FM Arena in Sheffield. An album with the Rodgers-fronted lineup, The Cosmos Rocks, was released in October 2008 to poor reviews.

Opinion

"I had heard a LOT of great things about these guys - but the show was even better than I imagined"
Randy Jackson – Zebra

“Queen was the rock band that gave birth to the most known rock anthems and rock epic songs. From their first "Keep Yourself Alive" to their top "Bohemian Rhapsody" and the epic last songs "Innuendo" and "The Show Must Go On", Queen had continuously been teaching the musical world how rock music should be. How you can create something unique and techincally perfect by mixing the best of the available influences. Although The Beatles were the startpoint of rock music their sound was very boring and monotonous at times and few of their songs have survived the test of time. Led Zeppelin on the other hand used a very hard and heavy rock sound that made it difficult to gain attention and as a result only their "stairway to heaven" is now widely known. Queen mixed up all those previous rock styles and created a bombastic, excessive at times, glam rock that is until now their trademark. Mercury's voice and performances was something not ever found since then. I vote for Queen.

"You don't even have to close your eyes to imagine you're at a Queen Show... These guys even look the part!"
Bob Buchmann -Program Director

"The beautiful thing about this band is that all the youngsters are able to catch a glimpse of the greatness that is Queen and all of us old timers can watch and say "Oh man, do you remember when Queen used to do that!?"
